Water Water is good for you
Water can keep you alive
Water is healthy
When you drink water your body starts up ready for the day.
Your brain works for school and maths. You are healthy.

By Alice Mitchell (P3 Mulbuie Primary)

SPLASH IN THE BATH!

Splish, Splosh, Splash!
When I’m in the bath
I started splashing every where
Mum comes in and tells me off!
Sends me to bed!
Splish, Splosh, Splash!!!
By Ella (P3 Mulbuie Primary)

Splish, splash!
The rain is fun.

I love jumping in puddles.
Oh this is deep.
Oh I fell in.
My clothes were soggy.
I had my water proofs on.
I wasn’t really wet.
My brother went wa wa
We went home
Mum went you two are cold and soggy.

By Murron (P3 Mulbuie Primary)

 Splish, Splash!

Splish Splash I’m going in the bath
Washing all around
Up high and down below
I’d better wash well!
Oh now Mum’s coming in
I haven’t washed well
She was SCREAMING her head off
The whole world will hear her
I washed quickly
As clean as a whistle
By Ryan (P4 Mulbuie Primary)

Splish! Splosh! Goes the Water

Splish! Splosh ! Splash! goes the water as the children play in the pool.
Splish! Splash! Splosh! goes the water as mum washes her baby twins.
Splish! Splosh! Splash goes the water as dad washes his big hairy ugly legs.
Splish! Splash! Splosh goes the water as mum washes the dishes.
Splish! Splash! Splosh goes the water as it rains outside and all we can say is “RAIN, RAIN GO AWAY GIVE THE
SUN A CHANCE TO COME OUT TODAY”

By Sarah (P4 Mulbuie Primary)

THE LEAVES ON THE TREES

The leaves on the tree turn orange and brown, orange and brown, orange and brown.
The leaves on the trees turn orange and brown,
All round Mulbuie.

The leaves on the trees come swirling down, swirling down, swirling down.
The leaves on the trees come swirling down.
All round Mulbuie.

The leaves on the ground go swish, swish, swish, swish, swish, swish.
The leaves on the ground go swish, swish, swish,
All round Mulbuie.

The Running Water

Far away next to the equator.
Where the water is dug for and poisonous now.
If you look at your tap,
Just realise how lucky you are.
To have that tap!
Over there where the water is poisonous,
NOW JUST THINK!!!

BY CALUM (P 5 Mulbuie Primary)

Wash in water
Round goes the washing machine water swaying side to side washing our clothes.
Tap running in the tub getting ready for a wash.
Switching on the shower.
Scrub in shampoo then wash it out.
Wash your hand wash your hands.

BY Kesie (P5 Mulbuie Primary)

WASHING                                                                                                                                    Washing and splashing in the bath

Jumping and fighting with my brother

Splashing and sploshing in the bath,

Playing battle ships with my brother,

Splashing and shouting, jumping and bunching.

By Cameron (P4 Mulbuie Primary)

Water                                                                                                                                             Water is good for you

Water is life                                                                                                                                 There’s water there’s water
Come on let’s go and get some
Keep drinking don’t stop
Get your pails and fill up
We used to be thirsty but now we are not
So come on and let’s get a drink.

By Lewis (P3 Mulbuie Primary)

There once was a man
Who sat in a bath
He plopped out.
there was a big splash

He lost his towel
Behind the door
slipped and fell
on the slippery floor.

A poem about leaves
Leaves tumble down off the trees,
When the leaves tumble off the trees,
They always come in different colours,
The leaves fall in piles,
The colours you get are brown, red orange, yellow, mustard, purple and rust.

By Matt (P2 Mulbuie Primary)

Autumn Leaves
Autumn leaves all around
Crisp and crunchy
on the ground
When I rake them in a pile
I jump up and down
on them with a smile
When I kick them in the air
Mummy has to brush
them from my hair.

by Abigail (P2 Mulbuie Primary)

AUTUMN LEAVES

Leaves fall off the tree
They flitter down on me
Yellow, orange, red and brown
They fall down on the ground.

By Anna (P1 Mulbuie Primary)

AUTUMN LEAVES

Autumn leaves are falling
Of the trees always
Changing their colours

By Ross (P2 Mulbuie Primary)

FUN IN PUDDLES                                                                                                                        The rain goes on the ground.
It makes puddles.
We all jump in with our boots.
We don’t get wet

Puddles are wet with a splosh!!
They are nice and very fun.

By Hollie (P3 Mulbuie Primary)

SPLISH, SPLASH, SPLOSH!

I jump in the bath,
I make a big splash
Water goes every where
I get told off
By Sophie (P3 Mulbuie Primary)

Leaves are delicate                                                                                                            Leaves are delicate
Leaves are soft
Red and yellow and orange too
Leaves are falling on me
Leaves are falling on me, on me

By Alexander (P2 Mulbuie Primary)

LEAVES ARE FALLING

Leaves are falling                                                                                                                    Leaves are falling
Leaves are falling
They’re changing colour
when they fall
To red and brown and
Sometimes gold .

The can be quite crispy
Like tissue paper
they’re easy to tear
It is fun to play in the autumn leaves
And kick them in the air.

By Jessica (P2 Mulbuie Primary)

Magical water
I walked my dog down the stream
We sat down on a bench
The water rushed by really fast
Changing colours
Between the rocks there was a pot
A pot of gold
A rainbow appeared from the
Magical water.
By Emma (P5 Mulbuie Primary)

No sleep!!

Splish! Splash! Splosh!
goes the rain on the roof.
I’m trying to sleep.
The washing machine went on
in the middle in the middle of the night.
by Callum (P4 Mulbuie Primary)

In the bath tub
what shall I do?
what shall I do?
running the bath
I jump in
Bubbles went up my nose
I looked for the soap
I could not find it
It was tied to my toes
I jump out to go to the loo
So what am I to do ?

by Rebekka (P4 Mulbuie Primary)

Rain
When the rain comes people don’t like it,
They say go away!
go a way!
We want sun to come today.
It was sunny yesterday.
Why can’t it be the same today?

The Highland Year of Culture 2007 The Highland Year Of Culture started with a bang,
Our excellent choir sang and sang and sang,
Next was the Touchwood Festival where we saw our banner
Then Inverewe Gardens was next on our planner.
Next we were on our mountain bikes racing up the hill
- but it wasn’t like the nursery rhyme – poor Jack and Jill!
The pantomime of Robin Hood was very cheesy but good
- Olga Volt in her dress
- her house was a tent and a mess ,
Our Heritage topic was very much fun
and luckily we got it done.
By Kiera p.5 (Ferintosh Pr)

At Inverewe Gardens
This year has been a good year
The highland year of culture
We had a trip to Inverewe
Where the beautiful flowers grew.
Ice-cream colours pink and white
Blossoming out even in night.
Lift up your head to the towering flowers -
Notice its immense powers .
You needn’t stray
See the flowers gay
In their floaty dresses
Leave all your stresses
For it is….. the Highland Year of Culture
by Katie P6 (Ferintosh Pr)

HIGHLAND YEAR OF CULTURE!
Highland Year of Culture was good,
We went to Touchwood.
Touchwood was very funny,
And it was really sunny.
We went to Robin Hood,
Which was pretty good.
Olga Volt was really strange,
But it was a great change.
We made a heritage book,
Perhaps you’d like to take a look.
There’s many more things to write or say,
But that would take me all day!
By Catriona P7 (Ferintosh Pr)

There was a young boy from Inchbae,
Who made a house out of hay,
He bought a boat,
But it didn’t float,
So he never came back to Inchbae.
Rachel (Strathgarve Primary)

Highland Year of Culture 2007

When I think of this year past
I wish it could just last and last
In the Highlands it’s been like heaven
Celebrating Highland Culture 2007

Many trips and things to do
like mountain biking and Inverewe
Learning folklore of our own place
We interviewed people face to face

Ferintosh folk tales came to life
Ghosts and Gypsies were obviously rife!
Here whisky flowed like the Ferintosh burn
where Reverend Macdonald did a turn

In our school we do such a lot
Growing wild flowers but up grew a carrot
We also planted trees in the fieldy
And I hope to see them till I’m ninety

So that was the year that I most enjoyed
I wish it could happen again but it wont-
I’m annoyed!!

By Theo P7 (Ferintosh Pr)

Highland Year of Culture
Oh my bonny lass, it’s Highland Year of Culture-
Together we have had our fun, from Touchwood to
some plays.

We mountain-biked on forest tracks and planted trees
and flowers,

We went back in time to Culloden and Fort George
and made our topic book and banners.

Now this year is ended and another is beginning -
Lets hope it will be just as good as 2007.
By John P7 (Ferintosh Pr)

NAUGHTY 7

Oh, the clicking of gears as I jump into the air
With a ramp up ahead and the wind in my hair
As I ride ever closer, I wonder if I should stop
But I am to late for I’ve gone right over the top.

With a great raucous ‘BANG!’ rockets shoot into the sky
With all of the banners fluttering high
With the grind of the pedal, a log is slowly carved
And on the shaving horses those bits of wood are halved

Oh, the banging of hammers as they gnaw into the wood
Can we carry on? If only we could!
The crowd cries for more, like an ever hungry vulture
For this is the time of the highland year of culture
By Danny (Ferintosh Pr)

Our Special Year
For Highland Year of Culture,
It would have been great to look after a vulture.
Instead we did mountain biking,
And went up the Fyrish to do some hiking.

We had a visit to Culloden.
And Fort George was the opposite of modern.
Inverewe gardens was really great,
But the journey there I began to hate!

We won against Central in the choir,
Because our mark was so much higher.

At the touchwood Festival we had ice-cream,
But it was so horrible it could make you scream!
I’m afraid I have to come to an end,
If you didn’t enjoy it – you’re still my friend!
By Olivia P6 (Ferintosh Pr)

MY LITTLE POEM
We planted trees
Then came some honey bees
We made silk banners,
Using our great manners.
We went to the Touchwood Festival,
It was very enjoyable
We made a book
Buy one and take a look!
And all this happened in the…

Highland Year of Culture!
By Richard P.7 (Ferintosh Pr)

Highland Year of Culture
Highland Year of Culture was the best year ever
We’ll probably never get a year like it again.
We went to see ‘Robin Hood’,
And Eden Court was really good.

We had a Heritage Open day,
It was so great in many ways.
Olga Volt the electric fairy
was a teeny, weenie bit scary..!

I have to end this poem some way
I’ll tell you the rest some other day!

I am in my rocket with all my friends.

It is a never- ending experience.

Buzz! Buzz!
Goes the Whining Bee
Hiss! Wuf! Moo! Quack! Buzz!

My First Poem
My name is Brandon and I go to big school,
My best friend is Rubin who is really cool.
I watch Herbie on TV,
Playing Racing Cars is lots of fun for me.
I just love grapes to eat,
And sometimes sponge for a treat.
Blue is a colour I like a lot,
A racing car is the best present I ever got.
My favourite person is Rubin, who is a gem,
So this , my first poem, is just for them!
